OUR HISTORY

Eqien Jurnal – Journal of Economics and Business (known as Eqien Jurnal) is a journal published by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP3M) of STIE DR. KH EZ Muttaqien Purwakarta. Following the merger of STIE DR. KH EZ Muttaqien and STT DR. KH EZ Muttaqien into Universitas Islam Dr. Khez. Muttaqien in January 2024, the management of Eqien Jurnal was transferred to the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Islam Dr. Khez. Muttaqien Purwakarta, while the editorial structure remained unchanged.

The following outlines our history up to the time of this release:

Eqien Jurnal began publication in 2010 (Vol. 1 No. 1) as a print edition. A lack of understanding and challenges regarding technical management led to inconsistent publication.

Eqien Jurnal adopted the Open Journal System (OJS), re-uploading Vol. 1 No. 1 (2012)—which featured four articles from within STIE DR. KH EZ Muttaqien—and continuing through Vol. 2 No. 1 (2013); however, it subsequently stagnated and ceased publication until 2016.

Eqien Jurnal began consistent publication in 2016, starting with Vol. 3 No. 1 (2016). It engaged authors from both internal and external institutions and initiated preparations for journal accreditation by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Eqien Jurnal obtained journal accreditation starting with Volume 6, Number 1 (2019), pursuant to the Decree of the Director General of Research and Development Strengthening (KEMRISTEK DIKTI) Number 30/E/KPT/2019 dated November 11, 2019. This accreditation is valid for five (5) years with a Sinta 5 rating.

Eqien Jurnal encountered management challenges starting from Volume 8, Number 1 (2021). The management of *Eqien Jurnal* revised its publication governance during the period spanning Volume 9, Number 1 through Volume 11, Number 4 (2022).

Starting with Volume 12, Number 1 (2023), *Eqien Jurnal* improved its publication management and governance by engaging reputable editors and peer reviewers (holding Scopus IDs) and by maintaining consistency in article volume and publication schedules.

We are proud to see the journal's reputation rise following its accreditation by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Dirjen Dikti Ristek) via Decree No. 72/E/KPT/2024 (dated April 1, 2024). Under this decree, *Eqien – Jurnal Ekonomi dan Bisnis* (E-ISSN 2654-5837) was awarded "Rank 3" accreditation, valid through Volume 16, Number 4 (2027).

We hope to achieve an even higher accreditation rank next year.
